Everllence CO2 Compression Systems Selected for UK Flagship CCS Project

Everllence CO2 Compression Systems Selected for UK Flagship CCS Project

Everllence will supply CO2 compression technology for Net Zero Teesside Power (NZT Power) and the Northern Endurance Partnership (NEP), two cornerstone projects of the UK's East Coast Cluster decarbonization initiative.

NZT Power, a joint venture between bp and Equinor, will be the UK's first commercial-scale gas-fired power station with integrated carbon capture. Designed to generate 740 MW of flexible low-carbon electricity, the facility will capture up to two million tons of CO2'annually. Captured CO2'will be transferred via NEP's infrastructure for permanent storage in offshore geological formations. NEP, operated by bp, Equinor and TotalEnergies, will provide the pipeline and storage backbone for up to 10 million tons of CO2'per year from Teesside industries.

Everllence will deliver five centrifugal compressor trains covering two stages of the CO2'process. Two integrally geared compressors (type RG) will boost wet CO2'at low pressure, while three barrel-type radial compressors (type RB) will handle dry CO2'at high pressure for offshore transmission. Together, the systems will compress over 370,000 kilograms of CO2'per hour.

'The strength of our compressor portfolio is its ability to cover the full range of process conditions in CO2'service ''from low-pressure boosting to high-pressure export, liquefaction, and pipeline transport,''stated Dr. Marco Ernst, Head of Segment CCUS at Everllence. 'By providing all compression solutions from a single source, we can ensure seamless integration, high reliability, and efficiency across the entire CCUS value chain.'

The package also includes advanced process simulation and digitalization features. The integrally geared units will operate with a digital twin and virtual sensors, enabling real-time validation and adaptive performance tuning using machine learning algorithms.
