Team SOLID is developing an iron-based hydrogen storage system (IRHYS) that takes hydrogen storage and transportation to a whole new level. Unlike conventional methods that require high pressure or intense cooling, IRHYS is safe, circular, and affordable.

As a student team from Eindhoven University of Technology, the team has progressed from concept to the Steam Iron Reactor 1 (SIR1), which is already capable of storing and releasing hydrogen under real-world conditions. Building on this success, the next generation, SIR2 reactor, is currently being developed, designed for greater capacity and improved efficiency.
