Afkenel is Director Hydrogen for the Energy Transition Fund at Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners. She is a Non-Executive Director at HydrogenOne Capital, the first renewable hydrogen investment trust listed on the London Stock Exchange. Previously, she was Hydrogen Business Development Lead and H2Maasvlakte 500 MWe Project Director for Uniper in the Netherlands, Chief Operating Officer of Energy at First Hydrogen, and SVP of Hydrogen Business Development for Netherlands at ENGIE. She has also held senior positions at Gasunie, Shell, and NAM, delivering hydrogen, heating, and oil & gas projects in the Netherlands and worldwide. Afkenel is a global ambassador for Women in Green Hydrogen, promoting diverse talent in the energy transition.
